United Prayer Rising

The Jesus Revolution

In October 27, 2001, more than a month after the catastrophic 9/11 terrorism attack, the Philippines received a seed. It was a prophetic word from Cindy Jacobs given to Pastors Jerome and Annabelle Ocampo.

This is the prophecy for the Philippines.

This prophecy sparked hope in the hearts of the Filipinos who were buried in helplessness due to rooted corruption, tyranny and religion that have enslaved this nation for centuries. God spoke a clear and special word for His Filipino bride for the first time to many who were stuck in the mud of hopelessness. It was a brink of light to a generation who lived in the dark for a long, long, long, period of time.

Months after the prophecy there were a series of Jesus Revolution (JREv) movements all across the land. It was like a casting the vision gathering of all Christians of where the country is going. What is our call and what is our destiny as a Filipino people. There were prayers of repentance, restoration and a lot of desperate cries for revival to come to the Philippines.

When it happened in Davao City, I was a lukewarm Christian. Even after growing up in church, being a Pastor’s kid and had momentous encounters with God, I was still not sold out to Jesus. I lived my life the way I planned it to be. I was the master of my fate. Jesus was my Savior but was not my Lord.

In fact, the night before JRev, I was in Samal Island, surrounded with drunk friends and flirting with a guy I barely know. After the “fun night” I ran straight to PTA grounds (now People’s Park) to watch my brother Paul lead one of the many prayers that day.

Heaven was on earth… The power of God was so strong and everyone wailed a loud cry for change in the land. I started out skeptic but that one whole day of prayer and fasting eventually pierced my heart. It was the day that I repented and turned away from sin.

Brownsville Revival Fire in the Philippines

Fresh out of Brownsville revival, there were 5 missionary families who came to the Philippines in 2002. These missionaries heard from the Lord and believed that the next revival is coming to the Philippines. Over the span of 15 years, they have not only preached about revival in all corners of the Philippines, but have also trained, discipled and are sending Filipino missionaries to the nations. They have adopted Filipino orphans as their own. They are feeding the starving, rescuing the human trafficked, giving shelter to the captives, livelihood to the poor and bringing the gospel to the streets, churches and villages in power and love.

They are here to die for the Filipinos and for this nation until God says so. And this is coming out from the revival fires that transformed their lives during the Brownsville Revival.

Why do I know this?

Because these people are my spiritual parents. I have sit under their council, lived in their home, ate their food, cried with them, preached with them, went on mission trips, established entities and churches to serve this nation, with them. The very revival unction that we’re living our lives with: how we raise our kids, how we disciple, how we work, how we put up our business is all out of the vision that as a Filipino we are here to bring a holy and pure generation to the King of Kings that will prepare His second coming. We live with a purpose… with a mission coming from a vision and identity of God’s call over His Filipino people.

Was it a coincidence? Maybe. But also maybe, it was God’s way to bringing the torch of revival fires from one revival destination to another…

But you see we’re not the only ones awakened to a sense of Filipino destiny. We’re not the only ones with the seed of revival growing in our hearts. Because God is big and He is faithful to fulfill His words.

Thousands upon thousands all across the land today are growling ready to take over this land. This is behind the scenes of today’s busy tabloids of politics, entertainment and wars. These remnants are in the world but are not a part of it. They have been raised to stand for a nation for such as time as this.

Through Brownsville Revival missionaries or not, it is sure that God has placed a revival seed in this nation 16 years ago and He is faithfully working to see His words fulfilled.

JRev to Uprising

Today is the fourth of the Uprising Conference in Davao. For the past 3 days, we have not just gathered in prayer but have also sought to line up with heaven on His will for our lives and our nation.

When in JRev, I see Christian world leaders like Dr. Michael Brown and Lou Engle come and cast vision to the churches of this nation, in this Uprising, I see that those who received the seed during the JRev times have lived out a praying and supernatural life, They have formed their flocks and communities around the revival call of God in this nation. And now, they are passing the torch to the new generation!

Is Revival coming to the Philippines?

Not only because we now have Filipino fathers who are standing in vision for the land, but also because we now have sons who dreams with God. Sons who are not under the control of this world but sons that will conquer this land for the King! Sons who are not scared to declare His mandate, not tired to cry and kneel, not unwilling to give their lives down and not compromised to live their lives loud for Jesus.

Not only because there was a revival seed planted. But also because there were lives to allowed that see to flourish in their hearts and now present a generation that will pass the seed to another generation. This revival will last long and will fulfill its purpose!

Come join the Uprising!

The question now is, will you a part of that generation? Will history see your name as a life who shed blood and tears for the spirit transformation of our land? Will eternity mark you as a selfish soul who leaved the world for the heart of God for His people on earth…

Will you say yes?
