Pope Francis’ Visit, Revival and Whirlwind!

I am currently developing 2 books. One, When my Fairytale Love Failed is about a story of a young girl who fall inlove, got engaged at 17 and was left all alone destroyed in hurt and hopelessness. Her journey to restoration and destiny (and even finding the man of her prayers) is the gist of the book. The second one is about revival in the Philippines, Revive Philippines which I have been writing for 10 years now. This was the book God impressed in my heart to write to express to His people His call and destiny for the Filipino blood.

For 10 years, I researched, prayed and discovered a lot of things that solidified His call for the Philippines. I will discuss all in the book of course. But the bottom line of it is, He destined the Philippines to be His forerunners to the middle east to prepare His second coming. To be firebrands starting revival fires all over the earth. To be missionaries to the ends of the earth.

The Pope’s Visit

It’s amazing how this (revival call for the Philippines) beats in the heart of God. He desires it now. “The bowls of heaven are ready to be tipped off over the Philippines”. His glory is coming to come and remain.

The Pope’s visit is just a confirmation of this call. A CNN reporter was interviewed last January 8, 2015 by Jesicca Soho in her weeknights’ show, State of the Nation. He was asked about the Pope, and many other things. He shared a lot of things but one thing struck me. He said (not word for word, but it goes along with this):

The Philippines is the new Irish. In 1900s, Ireland send missionaries all over the world. The Philippines is like that now.

That hit me! This reporter is a good resource person having served at least 2 Popes. He knows the tides of time and for him to signify that one of the reasons why the Pope is here right now is to strengthen the Philippines’ missionary call is dumbfounding for me.

It not about the Pope. It’s not about Catholicism. It’s not about religion. It’s about God and His purposes.

There is no better way to build up Filipinos to go closer to Jesus and be founded in His statues right now in this nation than through the Pope. The church (His bride) is dead and is not doing what she should be doing. God is moving on His own in ways available for Him. Because He is more than religion. He is more than the Catholic faith. He is God. He can work in ways and people to express His love and compassion. To usher His call.

The Pope’s visit is just a confirmation of God’s love and destiny for this nation.

I was all the more encouraged to pursue revival.

More than 10 years ago. I knelt in my little bed and prayed to be counted in the revival that’s coming after watching The Prophecy for the Philippines by Cindy Jacobs. Until now, I still believe. Until now I still wait. Until now, I still cry my hearts out and preach it is coming. Even in the midst of His dead church (the Filipino church as a whole) who has lost her heart for revival over the years. His Holy Spirit is real and He will come and move!

And no, revival is not a big gathering of believers alone. It not a movement where explosions of evangelism and discipleship adding in to church growth is happening either. It is only tip of the ice berg. Revival is a God thing. It is His manifest presence coming down and taking over. It is His glory changing and overthrowing demonic influences in our lives that it overflows to the streets, to government, to culture, to a generation.

Only those who experienced it in the past can truly understand and define it. And those people can’t also live life without it anymore. Once revival hit you, you are forever destroyed. Just like David said, what is a thousand days compared to a day in His presence.

We need revival in our nation today. It is for us. We are destined for it.

Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor she brought forth her children. – Isaiah 66:8 (ESV)

Few years back, I dreamed of giving birth and God giving me this verse in the end. I remember crying and running to my spiritual mother Casey Miller after the dream and she mentioned God was telling me this is how revival will come. She knows it’s deeply engraved in my heart. They and all of my His Mission (from Fire International) leaders watered the seeds of revival in my life.

Today I read this article from Charisma Magazine that shattered me to pieces. Lisa Great in her article, A Prophetic Look at 2015 (please go ahead and read the full article, it’s powerful) mentioned that this year is the year of whirlwind in the Hebrew calendar. Lisa wrote, “So, what does it mean, what can we expect in the year of the whirlwind? I believe the year of the whirlwind means everything is going to change and it is going to happen suddenly. The prophets in the land are speaking of acceleration, fast, sudden, swift change.”

This spoke heavily in me that I ran up to the office and cried out. God is serious for revival. He is sending one confirmation after the other. Moreover, I am convinced something great is coming this year.

A life worthy of the calling

When I ran up and cried to God I did not cry for revival this time. I repented instead.

I repented that I misused my time sometimes for something that’s not beneficial in eternity. I repented for allowing compromises around me. I repented that sometimes my words are not pleasing to Him. I repented that I am not focused when I fast. I repented for not living a life worthy of the revival calling for the Philippines.

I had to weigh life and consider what I am all doing in the light of eternity.

For example, I spend a lot of time in social media – is it worth it? Or I can lessen the time and spend time more time in prayer instead? I plan to go back to the gym. I had to think, is 2-3 hours there worth it in the light of eternity? I had to look all aspects of my life and just focus on what really matters.

An encouragement to all Christians

I plea… not just pray to each of you – friends, relatives, acquaintances, and all those reading this, to please quit sinning and give your lives fully to Jesus. Money, fame, fashion, education, business, status, a fit body, career, are all good but please don’t let these things take more time that your intimacy with Jesus.

Undone in His presence
Let’s be undone in His presence…

Let’s leave the life of compromises and let’s be undone in His presence. Let’s influence and inspire others. Let’s pursue righteousness and cry for revival. Let’s radically serve our home churches and hit the streets with His precepts. Our nation needs PEOPLE living out the Jesus life. Not religion. Not good works. Not words.

The Pope is here and it’s good that he’s saying good things about Jesus and family. But you know what’s missing? The message of repentance. People feel all emotional and crying feeling closer to God but there are no testimonies of lives turning away from sin and embracing holiness in Jesus Christ. When the Pope leaves, people will go back to their old sinful lives. There is no real transformation when it doesn’t start with repentance.

This is why we as a church in this nation needs to stand up and set an example.

Do you know why millions come to the feast of the Black Nazarene? Because this nation is hungry for the move of God. Millions are in need of miracles. And because no church in this nation is ministering to these needs, our people cling to what is available. Even if it’s against Jesus’ teachings and the counterfeit  of God’s real move.

It’s time that we consecrate our lives and bring the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. It is possible. It will happen. Let us give them Jesus. Let us heal the sick, cast our demons, preach the wor d, cleanse lepers, and raise the dead. We owe this to the lost world. Freely we receive, we should also freely give.

Think of where your life is at now. Go over what you’re doing may you be a student, minister, mom, business man, missionary, vendor, artist, government official, media personality, celebrity, social worker, engineer, doctor, lawyer, scientist, etc. — and see what is it that you do that’s worth living for eternity. If there are things that’s not really important in heaven, don’t waste time and redirect your time to reading of the Word, praying, speaking in tongues, fellowship with His people, evangelism and His works.

Evaluate if the music you’re playing and singing is worth it. The book you’re reading, does it boost your passion for God? All the hours in YouTube and internet games. The friends you’re with, if they’re influencing you to sin, leave! Choose to use your free will for His glory and purposes. Seek Jesus.

T o Pastors… what are we leading our churches into? If it’s not Jesus and His heart we may need to restructure our vision. Church is not about the instruments and numbers. Let’s focus seeking His presence and everything will follow.

To missionaries… You are here to equip this people for their call. Let’s not be led astray with good works and good life. It’s time to focus on the gospel more than ever before.

To my fellow DTC (Discipleship Training School) students all over the world. May you be a graduate or just attended a semester. It’s time we go back to a consecrated life for revival. We are among remnants of our land. We received a revival anointing from Brownsville revival through our teachers like NO ONE ELSE did in this nation and generation. All the wisdom, teachings, prayer tunnels, mentoring, encounters, laying of hands, mission trips, miracles, healings, sign and wonders we’ve seen, and times of sweat and tears in that floor is for nothing but for such a time as this. We have a call. Let’s take back the baton and run this fire in our own ways. May it be intercession, worship, or administration. Let’s continue to be involve and spell change in our land like what we were taught to. Fuego!

To all Pastor’s kids like me.  Please don’t run away from your calling. You’re a spiritual Levite. Let’s live up to that. Let’s help the church in ways we can. We will know what to do because we were raised in truth and compassion. Serve His bride. Serve His people.

To all Christians in the workforce. Shine your light. Don’t compromise but influence. With your lives not with your words. You are the Bibles in your offices, schools and work places. Be the salt of this dying nation.

Let’s all be counted for this coming revival. Let’s do our part. I know He will come in power seeing a Bride taking her role in the end time awakening. Revival is coming. It’ll come sudden and quick. Will you be ready by then?

  1. The whirlwind is picking up in Northern Indiana, in the United States. Take a look at reviveindiana.org and evana.net. Please pray for us here.
